The Unbeatable Benefits of Dental Implants

Artboard 21

Longevity

Dental implants are the most reliable and long-term solution for replacing a missing tooth. When properly placed and cared for, implants can last 40 years or longer, providing many of our patients with benefits that last a lifetime.

Jawbone Retention

Losing a tooth causes the surrounding jawbone to atrophy over time, leading to a sunken facial appearance. Dental implants are the only solution that can prevent bone loss and help maintain your facial structure.

Restore Function

Missing teeth can make it difficult to chew your favorite foods or enunciate words. Dental implant restorations function just like natural teeth, restoring your ability to eat and speak.

Stable

Traditional dentures tend to shift or slip out of place when eating or speaking. Implant-supported restorations such as crowns, bridges, or dentures provide unbeatable stability and peace of mind for years to come.

Improve Self-Esteem

Gaps in your smile can make you self-conscious and prone to hiding your teeth Our implant-supported restorations are made from the finest materials to enhance your appearance and confidence.

What Are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are composed of three parts: the implant post, the abutment, and the restoration. Implant posts are made of titanium and are inserted into the jaw, acting as the roots of the tooth. Dr. Streeter coordinates with some of the top oral surgeons in Colorado Springs to perform your implant surgery. After you have healed, you will return to our office so we can create a custom crown, bridge, or denture to complete your implant journey.

What Sets Our Approach Apart

Many dentists use a small implant and abutment, which requires the use of a large crown that looks bulky and is more difficult to clean. We use advanced technology, including digital x-rays and 3D scanners and printers to fabricate custom, all-ceramic crowns that have a more natural contour along the gum line. The crowns are attached to an appropriately sized implant via a customizable gold abutment, which has reflective properties that complement ceramic restorations and result in improved aesthetics.

The Cost of Dental Implants

The cost of dental implant surgery varies depending several factors, such as the number of implants and type of restoration. For single tooth replacement, the cost is about $2,000 for the implant and $1,600 for the crown and abutment.

For patients that require full arch replacement, we offer a more affordable option with the All-on-4 technique. However, each individual and case is different; we can provide more accurate information about pricing during a consultation.

Do I Qualify for Dental Implants?

Good Overall Health

Patients must be in good overall health to qualify for dental implants. Certain medical conditions such as diabetes or autoimmune disorders may increase the likelihood of complications occurring.

Sufficient Jawbone Density

Dental implants require a strong, stable foundation to ensure lasting results. Patients with insufficient jawbone tissue may need a bone graft procedure in preparation for implant surgery.

Healthy Gums

Having healthy gums is a must for dental implant patients. Any signs of periodontal issues must be addressed and treated before proceeding with the implant process.

Nonsmoker

Patients must quit smoking several months before undergoing dental implant surgery. Smoking interferes with the body's ability to heal and increases the chances of implant failure.

What to Expect during the Dental Implant Process

Consultation

Dr. Streeter will discuss your medical history and conduct a thorough evaluation to determine if dental implants are right for you. He will use digital x-rays to view your teeth, gums, and jaw in order to fully understand your dental needs. He is in contact with experienced oral surgeons throughout Colorado Springs and can recommend an expert to perform your implant surgery.

Preparatory Procedures

Any dental preparatory procedures such as bone grafting are performed before starting the implant process. It is important to note that the treatment timeline varies case by case and may look a little different for everyone.

Implant Placement

The implant dentist will administer anesthesia to numb the area. Depending on the dentist, they may have sedation options available to further maximize your comfort. An incision is made across the gums to access the jawbone. The titanium implants are carefully inserted into your jaw.

First Recovery

After the post is inserted, it will take around four to six months for the area to heal. A process called osseointegration will occur, in which the titanium posts naturally fuse to the jawbone and lock into place, creating a solid foundation.

Abutment Placement

Once the implant area has healed, you will return to the dentist to attach the abutment. The abutment attaches to the titanium post, and your future restoration is secured to the abutment.

Second Recovery

It will take around two weeks for the implant area to heal after attaching the abutments.

Impressions

When you have fully recovered, you will return to Streeter Dental so we can begin planning and designing your restoration. We will take impressions of your mouth using a digital scanner to create your custom crown, denture, or bridge.

Placing the Restoration

To complete your dental implant journey, Dr. Streeter will attach your custom restoration to the implant and ensure a comfortable fit.

Utilizing Advanced Technology for Superior Results Same-Day Crowns

Here at Streeter Dental, we use the latest dentistry tools to make your visit as seamless as possible. If you select a dental crown as your final restoration, we can design, fabricate, and place it in just one visit with our 3D scanner and on-site milling machine. Traditional dental crowns typically take two appointments because they are created at an off-site lab. Our technology eliminates the inconvenient waiting time between appointments, allowing you to leave our office with a stunning, custom-made ceramic crown that looks like a natural tooth.

All-on-4 Dental Implants

For patients who want to accelerate the implant timeline, All-on-4 dental implants are an excellent option for the right candidate.

How Does it Work?

All-on-4 dental implants use four titanium posts to restore a full arch of teeth. Because the posts are inserted at an angle, less jawbone is required compared to traditional implants.

Who Is it For?

Patients who are tired of wearing dentures or want to replace a full arch of teeth. However, our dentist will first conduct a thorough evaluation to determine candidacy.

What Are the Benefits?

All-on-4 implants and restorations look and function like natural teeth, and results can be achieved after just one surgery. They provide all the long-lasting benefits of traditional implants.
