Dental Crowns

A dental crown restores strength to a damaged tooth by covering the visible portion of its structure.

Crowns offer cosmetic and restorative benefits and Dr. Jason Streeter offers custom same-day crowns to save you valuable time.

Are you wondering how dental restorations at our Colorado Springs, CO, practice can improve the health and aesthetics of your teeth?

Benefits of Dental Crowns

Following extensive removal of tooth decay, trauma, or a root canal, our dentist, Dr. Streeter, may recommend a dental crown. Crowns restore strength to a tooth’s structure and preserve the remaining natural tissue. The restorations often prevent the need for a tooth extraction following a root canal. Patients who seek this unique porcelain restoration can enjoy several benefits.

A More Attractive Smile

Dental crowns offer cosmetic benefits. If one or more of your teeth are worn, discolored, or damaged, Dr. Streeter can cover those teeth with a custom cap that blends with your smile. A crown made of porcelain can even be placed on your front teeth.

A Convenient, Comfortable Treatment

Thanks to our in-office technology, we are able to offer same-day crowns. Our Colorado Springs dental practice offers digital scans and in-house milling technology that allow your teeth to be prepped, scanned, and fitted with a new crown during one convenient visit to our dental office. We also use dental lasers for pain-free treatment.

Natural-looking Results

The final look of your crown matters just as much as its function. Your dentist will take great care to ensure that your crown looks natural. Each crown is digitally designed and milled under the direct supervision of your dentist to ensure that it is the best possible fit. We use e.max® crowns (in addition to porcelain) that offer natural translucence and lifelike dental esthetics.

Preservation of Natural Teeth

A dental crown often prevents the need for a tooth extraction. Minor chips and pockets of decay can be treated with composite resin fillings. Crowns are reserved for the treatment of significant decay and damage. By preserving a natural tooth after a root canal or similar treatment, our dentist is able to preserve patients' jawbone health. The loss of a tooth can often lead to bone atrophy and other dental problems.

Improved Oral Comfort

If your teeth are worn or damaged, you may experience significant discomfort when chewing. Many patients find relief from sensitivity or tooth pain following the placement of a dental crown. Each step of the dental implant treatment will be performed with your comfort in mind.

"His Crowns Are Beautiful" What Patients Are Saying

Butterfly Baker

...Dr. Streeter and his staff are STILL the BEST. He expertly replaced and reset a crown which has since felt 1000% better after he completed it than my previous dentist installation. I feel a complete difference with his reset in my daily chew which unknowingly was corrected in this process. He is light with his hands, but structured enough to get the job done without causing unnecessary pain. He doesn't suggest nor charge for unnecessary procedures...

Placing a Crown Requires Some Tooth Preparation

What to Expect during Treatment

Our use of an in-house milling system saves patients from needing to wear a temporary crown for two weeks or longer while they wait for their final restoration.
We can place crowns in just one appointment.

IP 01 - Business and Management

The first step in establishing your candidacy for this form of dentistry begins with a consultation and exam at our Colorado Springs dental practice. Your dentist, Dr. Streeter, will take the time to explain the dental crown treatment process while answering any questions that you may have.

Once your candidacy has been established, a date will be set to prepare your tooth and fabricate your dental crown. There are three basic steps involved, and the entire process can be completed from start to finish through one visit to our practice

Tooth Preparation

To create room for the dental crown, a layer of the tooth will need to be gently removed. Before Dr. Streeter performs this step, your tooth will be numbed using local anesthesia. We use an electric handpiece, which is smoother and quieter than air-driven tools and provides an improved experience for the patient. Nitrous oxide sedation is also available.

Dental Crown Fabrication

Once your tooth has been prepared, it will be scanned using an advanced TRIOS® 3Shape scanner. Studies have shown this to be the most accurate scanner on the market. The information will then be sent to an in-house milling machine that will fabricate your dental crown while you wait. Our office uses advanced e.max crowns that match the natural aesthetics of your teeth. Depending on your needs and the tooth being treated, we can offer premium-grade KATANA™ Zirconia, which is incredibly strong.

Placement of Your Tooth Restoration

Once your restoration is ready, Dr. Streeter will ensure that the porcelain cap is a perfect fit and meets your cosmetic goals. Before cementing the crown, we treat the tooth with a desensitizer that virtually eliminates sensitivity following the appointment.
